To create the City of San Diego's first dedicated pickleball facility of 16+ courts by repurposing lightly-used tennis courts on public land, open to the general public at an affordable price, enhancing the surrounding park space, offering player resources such as instruction, leagues, youth programs, curated sessions by level, social events, and tournaments, managed by and for the pickleball community as a nonprofit organization, all at zero cost to the City.
We are Stefan Boyland and Mike Shinzaki, two local professional pickleball players and ambassadors who are setting out to construct a regional facility at Robb Field in Ocean Beach, converting 12 tennis courts into 36 pickleball courts. We have been hard at work the past year meeting with city officials, the media, and various committees and boards in order to make this happen. We invite you to join 50,000 local residents who play pickleball in supporting this grassroots movement and a proposal to enhance San Diego. Details of the proposal in the video links below:
